Nairobi CBD to experience major water shortage

The entire Nairobi Central Business District will experience major water shortage as Nairobi Water and Sewerage Company has cut off water supply to the area.

On Wednesday, the company stated that that the supply cut would allow its team to repair water pipes that had been damaged by contractors working on the expressway.

The online statement reads, “Water supply to the entire CBD has been shut down due to a pipe damage by the Express Way Contractor. The line has been shut to pave way for repairs.”

The company has urged city residents to exercise patients as efforts to restore supply begin.

The completion of Nairobi Expressway will reduce travel time from Westlands to JKIA to 15 minutes during peak hours, Presidential Delivery Unit (PDU) said.

The aim is to decongest the CBD and Northern transport corridor.

The PDU added that the expressway has provided over 200 jobs for Kenyans as well as markets.
