Rwanda's Kagame first East African President to take COVID jab



Rwanda's President Paul Kagame has become the first East African Head of State to be vaccinated against Covid-19.


The 63-year-old Head of State and his wife Jeanette received their jab at a hospital in the capital Kigali.


A total of 230,000 people in Rwanda have been inoculated against the virus, the country's Ministry of Health said on Thursday.


So far in the region; Uganda, Kenya and Rwanda have initiated vaccination campaigns.

Ethiopia, the worst affected country in East Africa will kick-off vaccinations on Saturday .
