Kimilili Member of Parliament Didmus Barasa and Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei have been arrested amid the ongoing chaos in the Kabuchai by-election.
Barasa and Cherargei are at the Bungoma Police Station together with Chesumei MP Wilson Kogo and his Belgut counterpart Nelson Koech where they are being interrogated.
According to Cherergei, the lawmakers do not know why they have been arrested.
He said, "We are yet to be informed of why we have been arrested but despite all the hurdles, we are optimistic we will carry the day."
Reportedly, their arrest is due to their act of scaring voters with their weapons and therefore disrupting the voting process.
