A missing taxi driver's lifeless body was found badly mutilated near Gilgil town where it had been dumped.
Isaac Thumbi Njuguna's body was found in a thicket 2kms from the town with his car missing.
Prior to the discovery, there had a been a four-day search for Njuguna.
Reportedly, he went missing on Tuesday last week after he was hired by unknown people to ferry them to Gilgil.
Police began a search for his car which he recently acquired and had be using around Naivasha town.
The incident instilled fear and anger among the residents.
According to preliminary police reports, Njuguna's body had been partially eaten by wild animals and partially injured by someone who used blunt objects to attack him.
Gilgil OCPD John Ondit said that the public informed police about a body that had been spotted off the Nairobi-Nakuru highway.
Ondit added that they were able to recover some identification documents, tracing his home area in Naivasha.
“Our counterparts from Naivasha have taken over the case and we suspect that the deceased was murdered elsewhere before the body was dumped in Gilgil,” Gilgil OCPD said.
