A ward under construction at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital ( JOOTRH) collapsed on Saturday.
The 26 million, 100-bed capacity ward whose construction was on the Linton collapsed in what the hospital's management now says could be a case of contractor's recklessness
JOOTRH Chief Executive Officer George Rae confirmed the incident saying that 60 patients who were in the collapsed ward had been temporarily transferred to other section of the hospital.
National Construction Authority ( NCA) has since ordered the evacuation of all patients from the said building.
According to NCA regional boss Eng. Amos Musa investigations into the cause of the collapse have commenced.
