Former Chelsea and England captain John Terry has predicted that Manchester City will win this season's Premier League, claiming that team under Pep Guardiola’s is by far the best team in the division.
At the top of the table, City sits above their bitter rivals Manchester United based on goal difference. The two teams have two games in hand ahead of City's trip to Burnley this evening.
Despite a rocky start to the campaign, the six-time English champions have showed their strength lately by winning their last 12 matches in all competitions.
Their last defeat was in November when Spurs beat them 2-0 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Terry, who is Dean Smith’s assistant at Aston Villa, witnessed Bernardo Silva and Ilkay Gundogan bringing Manchester City to victory with two late goals at the Etihad.
That performance convinced Terry that City can beat any opposition in the top flight ‘if they are on it’.
Speaking to talkSPORT on which team is likely to win the Premier League title, Terry said, "I’ve said Man City from the start. We [Aston Villa] played against them recently, and they are the kind of team that, no matter how you play, if they are on it, they can beat anyone in the league."
"I think they are the best team, they have the best individuals, and when they are at it they are by far the best team.They are showing that with their recent run that they are a threat," he added.
Terry expressed that he likes how City makes it so difficult for the opposition team.
