Mwanaisha Chidzuga together with her husband former Garsen MP Danson Mungatana are mourning the passing of his mother, Martha Mghoi who died aged 72.
Chidzuga took to Instagram to pay tribute to her mother-in-law, referring to her as God’s gift to her family who will be dearly missed.
She wrote, "Dear Mama Martha, I celebrate you today. You were a matriarch of our family a woman, a mother, my mother-in-law and Yayee to our children. Now you've gone to be with the Lord we give thanks to the Almighty for blessing us with your love, care guidance. You were really God's gift to us and to the world. You will be missed.”
She also highlighted that Martha made significant women development in Tana River.
“Rest well Mama Martha Mghoi Mungatana, rest well Yayee till we meet again... The late Martha will be remembered for her major contribution to women development in Tana River being the founder of YWCA in Tana River, Focus on matters education and fight for the rights of widows. She went to be with the Lord on 2nd January 2021 at 10 Pm,” Chidzuga added.
Her cause of death has not yet been revealed.
Chidzuga and husband Mungatana face a challenging start of the year after a tumultuous 2020 that the former K24 anchor experienced.
Last year on her 37th birthday, Chidzuga said she survived a road accident early in the year and that she contracted Covid-19 shortly after she lost her news anchor job.
