Kenyan middle-distance runner Hellen Obiri reclaimed her Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) Cross Country title on Friday at the Moi Air Base in Nairobi.
Last year, Obiri failed to defend her title due to an injury.
She came out strong to win by beating stiff competition from Laikipia Air Base teammate Joyce Chepkoech and Thika's Sheila Chepkurui.
Obiri won in 33 minutes, 25.1 seconds. Chepkoech took second place in 33:32.6 while Chepkurui clocked 33:47.0 thereby taking third place.
There are thirteen teams participating in the one-day championship part. Top-10 runners qualified for National Cross Country next month.
