Safaricom and the Kenya Police (NPS) are the top nominees for the Annual Taxpayer awards according to the list of nominated firms that the Kenya Revenue Authority released on Friday.
Safaricom PLC has been nominated the top payer for the Large Taxpayer category.
The Kenya Police (National Police Service) has been nominated for Government Partner Agency of the Year.
In 2019, Safaricom outranked SportPesa and scooped the top taxpayer's honour for tax compliance during the 2018/19 financial year.
The Public Service Commission and the Department for Interior and Coordination of National Government are nominees for the Public Sector Agency of the year award.
Also, Old Mutual Insurance Company Limited is one of the nominees recognized for making a great impact through their growth and yields.
Premier Kenya Limited and Nyeri Medicare Services Limited have been nominated in the same category for Medium and Small category.
Kapari limited and Mabati Rolling Mills Limited scooped the nomination for Top Importer for the One-Stop Border Posts and Authorized Economic Operator categories respectively.
Crown Berger Kenya Limited is the ICDN and airport Top Importer of 2020 nominee.
Mobile Accord Limited (Nairobi), Nakuru War Memorial Hospital Limited (South Rift), Tebere Concrete Company Limited (Northern), Monasa Nets (Kenya) Limited (Western), Wananchi Savings And Credit Co-operative Society Limited (Central) and Siro Properties Limited (North Rift Valley) are other firms recognized in this year's Taxpayer Awards.
