EXCLUSIVE: John Seii met DP Ruto in secret BBI meetings

In a rather unexpected turn of events, former Building Bridges Initiative Taskforce member Major Retired John Seii has come out to publicly disown the final BBI report.

COERCED TO SIGN

Speaking on Thursday this week, during a breakfast show at Emoo FM, a Kalenjin radio station, Seii sensationally claimed that members of the BBI team were coerced to sign and endorse the final report ahead of its handover to President Uhuru Kenyatta and Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, and subsequent public unveiling, marked by a heated political exchanges, on October 26th at the Bomas of Kenya.

Seii’s claims have poked holes into the credibility of the entire BBI process.

However, fresh details, now in possession of Latest, reveal a secret pact between Seii and Deputy President William Ruto, which ostensibly led to the former military man disowning the process he was part of from the onset.

According to credible information obtained by our team, Seii held two long and intense secret meetings with DP Ruto, a fierce critic of the BBI process, to lay plans for the discrediting the report.

The two night meetings, one at the DP’s Karen residence and another at his Lang’ata Road Weston Hotel, which have remained a well guarded secret even in Ruto’s circles, set the stage for Seii’s Thursday ‘revelations’.

 KAREN MEETING

Our investigative desk can now authoritatively report that, Seii met DP Ruto on the evening of Sunday 1st November 2020 at the Karen Residence, for 4 hours, where a team of DP Ruto’s top political and communication strategists attentively listened to Maj. Rtd Seii’s briefing of the unfoldings at the BBI Taskforce, examining each detail, and identifying the gaps therein. Seii was accompanied by two prominent Kalenjin elder politicians keen on DP Ruto’s presidential ambitions.

It was then that a script for Seii’s public announcement was prepared, with Emoo FM being selected as the perfect launch pad, as it a wide Kalenjin listenership and would appeal to the ‘home’ support of the DP. ‘THE TACKLE’, an online political show, hosted by political analyst Gerald Bitok, was chosen as the second frontier for the BBI onslaught.

“At first, Seii was afraid of going public with the allegations since they could not be verified but top DP allied Rift Valley politicians present urged him not to back track lest he betrays ‘their people’. They warned him that incase he failed the DP, they would make their whole community know about it,” a source present at the meeting, who spoke on condition of anonymity told our team.

20M REWARD

A second follow up meeting was held at the Weston Hotel on the night of Tuesday 3rd November 2020, where details of the plan were finalized and DP Ruto promised Maj. Rtd. Seii a reward of Kshs 20 million, half of which was paid on the spot, with the balance to be cleared after execution. DP Ruto also promised that he would not forget Seii and his family, once he became president.

Our sources indicate that, Seii, a former Kalenjin Council of Elders chairman, was also tasked with reaching out to other members of the 14-member BBI team, with an aim of convincing them to disown the report.

During a Parliamentary retreat to discuss the BBI report held on Monday 2nd November 2020 at the Great Rift Valley Lodge in Naivasha, presided over by President Uhuru Kenyatta and Hon. Raila Odinga, and attended by over 300 legislators, the president revealed for the first time that, DP Ruto was part of the BBI process from the onset and that, he is the one who selected 3 of the seven members of the BBI Taskforce members from the Jubilee side namely Maj. Rtd John Seii, Agnes Kavindu who is wife to former Machakos Senator and Ruto’s diehard Johnstone Muthama as well as Samburu Women Rep Maison Leshomo.
