Star of the Sea High School in Mombasa was on Wednesday, October 21 closed after four cases of COVID-19 were confirmed at the institution.
A senior teacher and three of her colleague's test returned positive Tuesday, forcing the school, which is located in Ganjoni, to be shut with immediate effect.
On Wednesday morning, health officers embarked on fumigating the institution.
Mombasa County Commissioner Gilbert Kitiyo said on Wednesday morning that the school will be closed for two weeks.
Form Four students had already resumed face-to-face learning on October 12 following Education minister George Magoha’s directive on resumption of studies in the country following a seven-month hiatus due to the coronavirus crisis.
