The most popular streaming service in the world, Netflix, has stopped offering free trials to United States viewers. A Netflix spokesperson confirmed this on Tuesday.
The company's spokesperson said, "We’re looking at different marketing promotions in the US to attract new members and give them a great Netflix experience."
The free-trial option is no longer available on its website.
According to news reports on The Verge website, Netflix has been eliminating the free-trial option over recent years in various countries. It's decision to remove the free-trial option in the United States began this month.
The Covid-19 pandemic increased the number of viewers in Netflix and other streaming services, thereby, making the company tap into the changing consumer behaviour in the world.
The viewership has increased because people spend more time at home in light of the quarantine and social distance to curb the spread of the pandemic
