Catholic priest off the hook in coronavirus case

A Nairobi Court has freed Catholic Priest Richard Oduor from an offence of spreading coronavirus.

Milimani Principal Magistrate Martha Nanzushi freed Priest Oduor after the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP), Noordin Haji withdrew the criminal case against him through an application, for lack of evidence.

Mention of the case was today, and a senior state Prosecutor informed the Court that he has been instructed by the Boss to withdraw the charges against the priest. The Magistrate accepted the request and discharged the Priest.


Father Oduor was arrested in mid-April for disregarding Ministry of Health regulations on Self-isolation after he jetted back from abroad and was released on a Ksh 500,000 cash bail.
