The Ministry of Health on Monday announced that 11 more people in Kenya had succumbed to Covid-19, raising the country's death toll to 777.
Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe also reported that 73 new cases were recorded pushing the total caseload in the country to 41,619.
He said the new infections were from 2001 samples tested in the last 24 hours.
CS Kagwe further said that 97 more patients have recovered from the disease, with 66 discharged from various hospitals and 31 from the home-based care programme, raising Kenya's total number of recoveries to 31,097.
Seventy of the new cases were Kenyans while three were foreigners;46 males and 27 females aged between 17 years and 77 years.
Nairobi accounted for 34 of the cases, Kilifi 18, Mombasa 11, Busia 4, Taita Taveta 2 while Kirinyaga, Kiambu, Meru and Uasin Gishu one each.
