Former West Mugirango Member of Parliament James Gesami has finally been approved as Nyamira Deputy Governor nominee after he re-submitted his papers to the county assembly.
The county assembly unanimously approved Gesami's nomination after Majority Leader Duke Masira presented the report of the Committee on Appointment on the vetting of the Deputy Governor nominee.
"The County Assembly, in its Special Sitting of Monday, 9th August 2021 has considered and approved the Report of the Committee on Appointments on the Vetting of Dr. James Ondicho Gesami Nominee for Deputy Governor – County Government of Nyamira,” read a letter from Speaker Moffat Teya to Nyamira Governor Amos Nyaribo.
According to the report tabled at the assembly, Gesami had submitted all the required documents including a clearance from the CRB, HELB, EACC as well as a certificate of Good Conduct.
Governor Amos Nyaribo had on May 28th re-submitted Gesami's name as his deputy after the assembly had previously rejected his nomination on grounds that he failed to present crucial documents.
