Mutyambai commenced his sick leave since Friday, August 26.
In his absence, Mutyambai delegated his roles to Gabow, the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of Administration.
According to a statement by the National Police Service (NPS) on Monday, August 29, Gabow visited Mutyambai in hospital and the two discussed various issues.
In the brief statement,however did not divulge much on Mutyambai's health.
"The two had a hearty conversation on various issues. The entire National Police Service fraternity takes this opportunity to wish the Inspector General speedy and full recovery," read a tweet from NPS.
