The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission(IEBC) has cleared Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang’ula to defend his seat on a Ford Kenya party ticket in the August 9 polls.
Speaking moments after his clearance, the Bungoma Senator and Kenya Kwanza Principal said the move now gives him time to focus on national campaigns for their coalition's presidential candidate William Ruto.
“We have cleared this step and I will now move to focus on the national campaigns for our Kenya Kwanza presidential candidate Dr William Ruto,” said Wetangula exuding confidence that he would retain the Bungoma senator seat for a third term.
Mr Wetangula will face off Lawrence Sifuna(ODM), Charles Ngome (DAP-K), Rev Herman Kasili ( UDP) and Jacob Machacha for the Senate seat in the August General Election.
