Flamboyant businessman Don Bosco Gichana is among prominent personalities who have been trounced in the ongoing United Democratic Alliance party primaries.
Gichana who was eyeing the Kitutu Chache North Parliamentary seat lost to little known politician Japheth Nyakundi.
Nyakundi, 33, garnered 5,475 votes against Mr Gichana who managed 2, 312 votes.
The UDA primaries held on Thursday across 36 counties attracted about 7, 000 people in Kitutu Chache North sub-county out of the 50, 665 registered voters as per the 2017 Independent Boundaries and Electoral Commission register.
"I am grateful to the people of Kitutu Chache North for voting for me as their preferred aspirant for the UDA ticket for 2022 General Election. I want to thank our party leader Dr William Ruto for ensuring free and fair nominations," said Mr Nyakundi.
This was Mr Gichana's second shot at the parliamentary seat in 2013 he unsuccessfully contested for the seat .
Mr Nyakundi,will now face off Mr Jimmy Angwenyi, the incumbent and longest-serving MP in the National Assembly on August 9th general elections.
