Machakos Governor and Maendeleo Chap Chap leader Alfred Mutua has reaffirmed his commitment to the Azimio La Umoja alliance days after expressing mixed reactions to his party's future in the alliance.
Speaking moments after hosting the party's National Governance Meeting, Mutua said he was satisfied with the agreement, noting that his party is fully behind Raila Odinga's presidential bid.
During the meeting held at International Covenant Hotel in Lavington, Nairobi, Mutua also expressed interest in deputising Odinga
"With the urging of my party members, I present myself for consideration for the position of deputy president to Jakom Raila Odinga," Mutua said.
At the same time, Dr Mutua offered an olive branch to his political rival Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, saying they should put aside their differences and forge ahead and back Mr. Odinga.
Mutua is serving his second and last term as the county boss.
