DCI summon Junet Mohamed over stoning of Raila's chopper

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has summoned Suna East Member of Parliament Junet Mohamed over Raila Odinga’s attack in Kebenes,Uasin Gishu County.

Taking to his official twitter handle, Junet confirmed that he had received the summons from the DCI.

“Good morning Hon Junet Mohamed. My name is John Gachomo from DCI headquarters; I am kindly summoning you to our offices for an interview on Tuwsday 5th April, 2022 in regards to the stonning of Hon Raila Odinga’s chopper in soy constituency Uasin Gishu County,” read Junet’s tweet.

Junet becomes the first ally of Raila Odinga to be summoned by the investigative agency regarding the violence meted on the ODM leader during the burial of Mzee Jackson Kibor on Friday.

So far, the sleuths have interrogated three politicians who have been linked with the incident which saw rowdy youths pelt stones at Odinga's chopper destroying it's windscreen. 

Among leaders questioned by the authorities include Soy MP Caleb Kositany and his Kapseret counterpart  Oscar Sudi and Uasin Gishu County Speaker David Kiplagat.

On Sunday, the three recorded statements at the DCI headquarters in Nakuru with the DCI officers confiscating their phones for forensic audit.

At least 17 persons have been arrested  and arraigned in court following the attack.
