Presidential hopeful Jimi Wanjigi joins Safina Party

Controversial businessman turned politician Jimi Wanjigi has ditched the Orange Democratic Movement for Safina Party.

Speaking to the press on Wednesday, Wanjigi maintained that he was still in the race for the top seat despite being hounded out of ODM.

" I want to tell Kenyans that I will be in the ballot on August 9^th, 2022. And where I will be, its where the next government will be formed. Today, I have officially become a member of Safina party which is once again providing platform to deliver seismic change,” said Wanjigi.

Wanjigi regretted that despite his  dedication to the Raila Odinga-led party he was humiliated when he called for democracy.

“We were in a home called ODM and that was the party that I first ever joined in 2018. I joined ODM believing that our ideology, our policies gave away in the election of 2017, were still in sync,”

“When we got together to form NASA, we talked about Canaan which we envisioned for Kenyans was a Canaan away from what we termed as oppression and backward policies of the Jubilee government ” he added.

Wanjigi who was received by Safina Party leader Pau Muite will be presenting his nomination papers during the party's National Delegates Convention slated for March 21
