Former Police spokesman Charles Owino joins ODM to contest for Siaya governor seat

Former police spokesman Charles Owino has officially joined the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM)party.

Owino who resigned from the Kenya National Focal Point on Small Arms and Light Weapon where he served as the deputy director early last month is gunning for the Siaya gubernatorial seat in the August polls.

Speaking to the press after he was officially welcomed by ODM officials at the Siaya party offices ,Mr. Owino who has served as a police officer for 3 decades wished his competitors well but called for peaceful campaigns.

He exuded confidence of bagging the party ticket stating he is now going out to sell his agenda to the people of Siaya. 

Mr Owino will face off with Siaya Senator James Orengo, former banker Otieno Okanja, former Rarieda MP Nicholas Gumbo ,United Nations official Bella Akinyi and George Mugoye Mbeya all whom have declared interest in the ODM ticket for the seat.
