Devolution CS Charles Keter has resigned to focus on his bid to be the next Kericho Governor.
Keter announced his resignation on Tuesday in a press briefing where he was flanked by all elected MPs from Kericho.
"I am resigning from my office in government to focus my energy on contesting for the seat of the county of Kericho," he told a press conference at Treasury buildings.
"I wish to sincerely thank the His Excellency the President for according me the opportunity to serve in his cabinet since 2015, when he nominated me to join his government." Keter said.
He said he will be contesting under DP Ruto's United Democratic Alliance (UDA).
Keter was Kericho's first Senator before he was appointed to the Cabinet.
During his stint in the Cabinet, he served as the CS for Energy and Petroleum CS before he was appointed to the Energy docket in 2018 before being moved to the Devolution Ministry.
