CAS Ababu Namwamba joins DP Ruto's presidential campaign team

Foreign Affairs Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) Ababu Namwamba has been appointed the Head of International Relations for Deputy President William Ruto's presidential campaign.

Namwamba's appointment was confirmed by the Director of Communications at DP Ruto's  Presidential Campaign Secretariat Hussein Mohamed on Wednesday. 

In the statement, DP Ruto termed Namwamba's appointment to the team as a great addition “We have worked closely with Ababu over the past 10 years on many fronts and I have come to value his leadership, experience, focus, and empathy.” 

“It is because of those qualities that I could not be more grateful to have him in our campaign team. With his considerable diplomatic talents, deep knowledge of the continent, strong network in the global stage and unwavering determination, I am confident in his role, leading international relations within my presidential campaign,” added the DP.

Namwamba was appointed Foreign Affairs and International Trade CAS on January 2018.

 He previously served as a Member of Parliament for Budalangi Constituency for two terms.

During the Grand coalition government he served as the  Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs.
