Manchester United sack manager Ole Gunnar

Manchester United has fired manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer following Saturday's 4-1 defeat at Watford.

United are currently seventh in the Premier League 12 points behind league leaders Chelsea with 12 games played.

The Red Devils have one win from the last seven league games a disappointing run that includes a 5-0 thrashing by Liverpool and a 2-0 defeat by Manchester City.

The Norwegian 48, replaced Jose Mourinho on an interim basis in December 2018.

Solskjaer was later given a full contract in March 2019 on a three-year deal and July signed an extension with the club until 2024.

Carrick will take charge of the team on an interim basis.
