Kakamega Speaker Morris Buluma has been ousted from office over alleged misappropriation of funds and gross misconduct.
The Member of the County Assembly of Kakamega voted unanimously to oust Buluma and replace him with Benjamin Omboko as acting Speaker.
Speaking to the press at the assembly precincts after the Wednesday morning session the MCAs accused Buluma of failing to account for 70 million out of the 120 million allocated to the assembly.
They also accused him of engaging in political activities and failing to presently execute his role thus putting the assembly in a difficult position when it comes to conducting its business.
