Deputy President William Ruto on Sunday took his presidential campaign to Kisii County.
According to an itinerary issued by his office, Ruto was scheduled to attend mass at Kenyenya Catholic Church after attending a service at Deliverance Church in Kisii town.
After that, he was to address roadside rallies in Kenyenya market, Tendere, Ogembo, Ikoba, Tabaka and Suneka.
The DP, who addressed rallies in Nakuru on Saturday, was also scheduled for a tour in Bogichoncho, Etago, Nyakembene, Nyamarambe and conclude his Kisii campaign in Daraja Mbili.
Ruto has intensified his campaigns, laughing off the recent endorsement of ODM Leader Raila Odinga by the Mt Kenya foundation. He said, “I am with God and the People.”
During his rallies on Saturday, Ruto said that the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) constitution amendment was the most fraudulent and deceitful process ever undertaken in the country.
According to him, the BBI's main agenda was to give the President more powers to control parliament and undermine the judiciary.
He said, “How dare you tell us that you want to install an imperial president that has power to sabotage parliament through appointments, that has power to sabotage the judiciary using the ombudsman, where on earth did any Kenyan say they want an imperial president. You are telling us about all the other sweeteners in BBI, you not telling us the real truth behind the BBI project.”
In his campaigns Ruto emphasizes that the first priority for the country should be the resolution of the poor state of the economy and the employment crisis in the country.
