Siaya Senator James Orengo has asserted there should not be any doubt about Mt. Kenya region’s support for ODM leader Raila Odinga’s 2022 presidential bid.
According to Orengo, Odinga has been getting overwhelming support and arousing welcome Central Kenya lately, indicating that the region has already taken a direction.
Speaking during an ID card mass registration drive at Usigu health center in Bondo on Friday, the Senator said that President Uhuru Kenyatta's latest remarks, and the cordial working relationship between Odinga and the Head of State proves that Uhuru is solidly behind the ODM leader's presidential ambition.
He assured ODM supporters that this time round Odinga’s votes shall not be stolen.
Orengo stated, “In order to confirm the Mt. Kenya support for Mr. Odinga, we will bring MPs and Senators from Central Kenya to Nyanza to prove to the people that indeed they are behind him.”
Bondo MP Gideon Ochanda seconded Orengo and encouraged the residents to ensure they register as voters, insisting it is the only way they shall be able to elect their leaders of choice.
He added whoever shall be elected in the local positions will not matter as long as Mr. Odinga becomes Kenya's next president.
