Kenya has recorded 95 new Covid-19 cases from a sample size of 3,334 tested in the last 24 hours , pushing the cumulative confirmed cases to 251,152 while the positivity rate stands at 2.9%.
In a statement, the Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe said that from the new cases, 86 are Kenyans while nine are foreigners and 56 are males while 39 are females.
The oldest case is 95 years old while youngest is a one-month-old infant.
Total recoveries stand at 243,944 as 172 new patients have recovered from the disease. From the new recoveries, 138 from the home-based isolation and care program while 34 are from various health facilities countrywide.
No new deaths has been recorded.
Kagwe said, "Today there are no deaths reported. Therefore, the cumulative fatalities still remain at 5,181."
Currently, 762 patients are admitted in various health facilities countrywide while 1,788 are under the home-based isolation and care program.
Of the 47 patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 31 are on ventilatory support while 16 on supplemental oxygen. No patient is under observation.
Of the other 256 patients who are separately on supplemental oxygen, 250 are in general wards while 6 in High Dependency Units (HDU).
Kagwe said that a total of 4,183,552 vaccines had so far been administered across the country
as of October 9.
Of the administered vaccines, 3,135,700 were partially vaccinated while those fully vaccinated were 1,047,852.
