Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru has said that though it is unlikely for her to join UDA, it is still early for that conversation.
Speaking on Spice FM on Monday, Waiguru said, "I don’t think it’s the right time to have that conversation. I can’t say I would, I can’t say I would not. This is politics, it’s unlikely but a bit early. Let’s see what the ground looks like."
According to her, the next political move will be decided by the people.
"I will not be ignorant to try and go against the people, I cannot vote myself in so, I’m listening very carefully to what it is that they want. Do they want me to run for governor for a second term. In politics it’s not just about performance, you can be a fantastic performer and not be re-elected," the governor said.
She added that sometimes politicians are elected on waves of political parties.
Waiguru said she will be spending a lot of time with people on the ground to listen to what direction they want her to take.
