Mombasa healthcare workers down tools over salary delays

Mombasa County health  workers on Monday downed their tools over delayed dues.

The workers drawn from the Kenya National Union of Nurses and Kenya Union of Clinical officers camped at the county headquarters for the better part of the day before presenting their petition to the Mombasa County Assembly.

Led by KNUN Secretary-General Peter Maroko and his KUCO counterpart Franklin  Makanga the health workers vowed to stay put until their two months dues is fully settled.

The workers also blamed the county government for failing to submit their statutory deduction despite their monies being deducted from their salaries every month.

The health workers promised to camp at Governor Ali Hassan Joho's office until their plight is addressed.
