Police officers in Changamwe have arrested a middle-aged man for allegedly killing his wife.
Reportedly, the accused slashed the wife to death using a machete on Saturday morning at their home in Mwangosi, on the outskirts of Mombasa.
According to Changamwe Police Commander David Mathiu, police officers were notified regarding couple's fight inside their home.
The police boss added that officers who arrived at the scene discovered that the woman had died due to injuries sustained during the physical altercation.
The officers also found couple’s three-month-old child's safe and sound beside the woman's lifeless body.
They then launched a manhunt for the suspect and found him hiding inside one of the area’s residential buildings where they arrested him.
The deceased’s body was taken to the Coast General Teaching & Referral Hospital mortuary as investigations into the incident continue.
