Kenya has recorded 323 new Covid-19 cases from a sample of 5,606 tested, pushing the cumulative confirmed cases to 248,392 while the positivity rate stands at 5.8%.
Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe said that from the new cases, 317 were Kenyans while 6 were foreigners and 104 were males while 167 were females.
The youngest patient was two months old while the oldest 104 years.
Total recoveries now stand at 239,730 as 432 more patients had recovered from the disease. From the new recoveries, 45 were from various hospitals across the country and 387 were from home-based care.
Sadly, 14 more people succumbed to the disease pushing the cumulative fatalities to 5,096.
According to the Ministry of Health, of the newly recorded deaths, only two were new while the rest were late reports from the audits of facility records in March April, July and September.
Currently, 1,220 patients are admitted to health facilities countrywide while 2,694 were in the home-based care programme.
Of the patients in hospital, 92 are under intensive care, 2 of them on ventilator support and 40 on supplemental oxygen but patient was under observation.
Another 375 patients were separately on supplemental oxygen, 361 of them in general wards and 14 in high dependency units.
So far, 3,600,187 vaccine doses have been administered across the country. Of these, 2,713,427 are first doses while 886,760 are second doses.
