Cherera picked as IEBC Vice-Chairperson

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has announced  Ms. Juliani Cherera as its Vice-Chairperson  following a plenary session on Wednesday.

IEBC Chairman, Wafula Chebukati in a statement said Ms. Cherera was elected unanimously.

"The Commission is pleased to announce that Commissioner Juliani Whonge Cherera was unanimously elected as the Vice-Chairperson of the commission in a plenary meeting." 

Ms. Cherera is among four commissioners who were sworn into the office earlier this month following the resignation of commissioners Roselyn Akombe, Consolata Nkatha, Margaret Mwachanya, and Paul Kurgat.


The other new commissioners who recently took the oath of office include ; Irene Masit, Justus Abonyo and Francis Mathenge.


Cherera will replace Consolata Nkatha who served as the Commission's Vice Chairperson until her exit in April 2018.
