Kiminini Member of Parliament Didmus Baraza was charged Monday following his arrest over assault of a contractor cum musician Stephen Masinde better known as Steve Kay.
The MP was arrested on Monday following a viral video in which he was seen slapping a contractor at a school in his constituency over a Sh 3.4 million pay dispute.
He denied the assault charged and was released on a sh 100,000 cash bail.
The court ordered the legislator to refrain from intimidating the compliant and interfering with the witnesses.
Baraza was set to commission five new classrooms at Baptist Lurare Primary School built by the National Goverment Constituency Development Fund( NGCDF) on Firday.
Drama unfolded when the MP found out that the classrooms had been locked up by the contractor who was demanding to be paid his dues before handing over the new classrooms.
