Media personality, Mwanaisha Chidzuga, has paid tribute to her late mother former Kwale Woman Representive, Zainab Chidzuga by penning an emotional message to her.
On Thursday, August 13, Mwanaisha took to her social media to express gratitude for the years she and her mother had spent together before her demise on Wednesday.
The former K24 TV news anchor wrote, "We loved you mum, supa supa, smart mama, but Allah loved you more. I am so grateful to Allah for giving me and my siblings the gift of calling you mama...Till we meet again, rest in power."
"She was a community leader and actively contributed to the women's movements at local, national and international levels through the Maendeleo ya Wanawake Organization," she added.
The late Zainab Chidzuga was the Woman Representative for Kwale County from 2013 to 2017 but lost the seat to the incumbent Zuleikha Hassan.
During the 2020 Madaraka Day celebrations, President Uhuru Kenyatta recognised her for championing the rights of the less fortunate in Kwale County.
Mwanaisha further stated, "Throughout her life, she was a peacemaker, role model, mentor and mother to many, earning her the deserved title of Mama Kwale County."
The family is seeking to raise Ksh2 million to settle the hospital bill accrued when the deceased was in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
