Kenya has recorded 323 new Covid-19 cases from a sample size of 3,676 tested in the last 24 hours, pushing the cumulative cases to 192,758 as positivity rate stands at 8.8%.
In a statement on Sunday, the Ministry of Health said, “Total recoveries now stand at 182,326 out home based care and Isolation program, while 36,584 are from various health facilities countrywide."
644 new recoveries were recorded with 604 from the Home-Based Isolation and Care program while 40 are from various health facilities countrywide.
Unfortunately, cumulative fatalities stand at 3,775 as 15 patients have succumbed to the disease with 3 of them in the last 24 hours while 12 are late deaths reported after conducting facility record audits in the months of May, June and July 2021.
Currently, 1,203 patients admitted in various health facilities countrywide, while 4,384 are under the Home-Based Isolation and Care program.
From 132 patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 40 are on ventilatory support, 63 on supplemental oxygen and 29 patients are under observation.
The Ministry added, “Another 272 patients are separately on supplemental oxygen with 250 of them in general wards and 22 in High Dependency Units (HDU).”
So far, a total of 1,620,465 vaccines have been administered across the country with the first doses being 1,038,074 while second doses being 582,391.
