Kenya has recorded 277 new Covid-19 cases from a sample size of 3,796 tested in the last 24 hours pushing the cumulative cases to 185,868 and marking a positivity rate of 7.3%.
From the new cases, 272 are Kenyans while 5 are foreigners and 158 are males while 119 females. The oldest case is 95 years old while the youngest is a 10-month-old baby.
The Ministry of Health stated that total recoveries now stand at 127,625 as 669 patients have recovered from the disease.
From the new recoveries, 588 are from the Home Based and Isolation Care program while 81 from various health facilities countrywide.
Unfortunately, four patients succumbed to the disease, pushing the cumulative fatalities to 3,675.
Currently, 1,126 patients are admitted in various health facilities countrywide, while 5,834 patients are under Home Based Isolation and Care program.
From the 115 patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 34 are on ventilatory support, 50 on supplemental oxygen and 31 patients are under observation.
The Ministry added, “Another 166 patients are separately on supplemental oxygen with 151 of them in general wards and 15 in High Dependency Units (HDU).”
So far, a total of 1,473,869 vaccines have been administered across the country whereby total first doses are 1,017,485 while second doses are 456,384.
