Mombasa County has suspended the coronavirus vaccination exercise after the county ran out of doses.
Confirming the development, County Communication Director Richard Chacha said the county is expecting to receive more doses from the Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA) which has also announced that it has run out of stock
"We have suspended the Covid-19 vaccination due to inadequate vaccines. We are expected to resume the process on Monday after receiving another batch, Mr Chacha told a local news outlet on Friday.
Mr Chacha attributed the fast depletion of the doses in the county to the high uptake of inoculation among residents.
As of Thursday, 3922 people had been vaccinated against coronavirus in the county.
