Kisumu County Assembly has adjourned its sitting for two weeks due to a surge in coronavirus infections in the county.
Kisumu County Speaker Elisha Oraro while confirming the development urged leaders in the county to sensitize the locals on the pandemic
The move comes amid concerns on the spike in COVID-19 cases in the county which is now considered the epicentre of the Indian COVID-19 variant.
According to health officials, the variant causes severe coronavirus disease.
Kisumu county on Tuesday recorded 129 cases of coronavirus out of the 433 announced by the Ministry of Health.
