Kenya has recorded 383 new Covid-19 cases from a sample size of 3,930 tested, pushing the total confirmed infections to 172,325 while the positivity rate stands at 9.7%.
From the new, cases 377 are Kenyans while 6 are foreigners and 234 are males w 149 females.
The youngest is a seven-day-old infant and the oldest is 96 years.
According to Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe, total recoveries now stand at 117,502 as 33 patients recovered from the coronavirus disease in the past 24 hours.
From the new recoveries, 18 were discharged from various health facilities countrywide, while 15 are from the Home Based and Isolation Care Program.
Unfortunately, 24 people succumbed to the disease as recorded in the last 24 hours, pushing the cumulative fatalities to 3,264.
CS Kagwe stated, “A total of 1,184 patients are currently admitted in various health facilities countrywide, while 4,942 patients are under the Home Based Isolation and Care Program.”
From the 101 patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 23 are on ventilatory support, 60 on supplemental oxygen and 18 patients are on observation.
Another 95 patients are separately on supplemental oxygen with 88 of them in general wards and 7 in High Dependency Units (HDU).
So far, total of 975,265 persons have been vaccinated against the COVID-19 disease countrywide. A total of 6,622 people have received their second dose.
