Yoweri Museveni has been sworn in as the President of Uganda for a sixth term in a ceremony graced by several Africa heads of state including President Uhuru Kenyatta.
President Kenyatta who is the Chairman of the East African Community arrived in Uganda's capital Kampala for the Inauguration ceremony on Wednesday morning accompanied by Cabinet Secretaries Raychelle Omama (Foreign Affairs) Peter Munya (Agriculture) and James Macharia ( Transport)
Other heads of state who attended the inauguration ceremony include Suluhu Samia Hassan (Tanzania); Sahle-Work Zewde (Ethiopia); Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo (Democratic Republic of Congo); Nana Akufo-Addo (Ghana); Alpha Condé (Guinea); Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa (Zimbabwe); Hage Gottfried Geingob (Namibia); Salva Kiir Mayardit (South Sudan) and Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo (Somalia).
Museveni won the January 14th Presidential elections with 58.6% of the votes while his closest challenger Bobi Wine of National Unity Platform( NUP) garnered 34%.
Wine has since disputed the election results citing election fraud
