Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party nominated MCA in Taita Taveta County Assembly Joyce Mwangoji has died.
According to the County Assembly Speaker Meshack Maganga, the MCA who doubled up as the deputy majority leader died on Sunday while being rushed to hospital.
"She told me she was under medication and did not complain that it was serious,” said Maganga.
She becomes the third female MCA to die in office in a span of two.
In December 2019 the assembly lost nominated MCA Anastacia Wakesho who died after battling breast cancer.
In March last year, the assembly lost Beatrice Mwambili, the only female elected MCA. She succumbed to gallbladder cancer.
Ms Mwambili was the MCA of Wundanyi/Mbale ward.
