Gor Mahia assistant coach Pamzo dissatisfied with virtual training

Gor Mahia assistant coach Sammy ‘Pamzo’ Omollo has expressed his dissatisfaction with the virtual training program which the club initiated for the team after the recent ban on sports.

The club developed an app that allows the technical bench to monitor the playing unit’s individual sessions from the program given by the technical bench.

Pamzo said that football requires team support so training as unit would be much better and effective in helping them accomplish their plan.

“Players are supposed to run at least five kilometers daily. Early in the morning and thereafter go to the gym. The gym sessions must be recorded are relayed live via our new app and this helps us know who is doing what,’’ he stated.

According to him, the team should be ready when called upon, given that suspension of sports is indefinite and anything can happen.

Pamzo said, “When players are together it is easier to train them other than the current virtual training. Football is about playing together and the current situation in the country has put us in a mess. We need our boys back together so that we can strategize on how to approach the remainder of the season.’’

The inadequacy in training has dumpened the spirits of the players, Pamzo added.

He pointed out that, “Some players who had form issues had started picking up very well. With the current situation, I think it is a big setback since we may need to go back to what we had already done to keep them on form. We are just longing for the big announcement of sports resumption so that we can continue from where we left."

The assistant coach is however optimistic that the government will soon lift the ban on sports to help them strategies how to collect more points and move higher on the log for the remainder of the season.
