Ugandan opposition leader Bobi Wine was on Monday arrested as he led Members of Parliament allied to his National Unity Platform ( NUP) party in a protest in the country's capital.
Last week, Bobi Wine in an address to his supporters called on them to " rise peacefully and unarmed " against President Yoweri Museveni who won a sixth term after garnering 58 % of the votes against Wine's 38%.
" Bobi Wine arrested as he led MPs and other leaders in a peaceful protest against abduction torture and murder, "read a statement from Bobi Wine's Twitter.
Reports further that he was driven to a Kampala police station before being taken to his home in Magere.
