A Nairobi court has sentenced a man to one year in jail for sharing a video of Lamu Senator Anwar Loitiptip smoking shisha in the company of a woman identified as Aeedah ‘Bambi’ Pesian Ahmed.
Jones Ochieng Mbolo pleaded guilty to attempting to extort money from Aeedah, the woman in the video.
Magistrate Martha Mutuku sentenced Mbolo noting that he was unremorseful for his actions.
The prosecution told the court that Mbolo threatened Aeedah that he would use social media to expose the video of her contravening the law by smoking shisha.
Senator Loitiptip had been listed as one of the witnesses in the case.
