Kericho Governor Chepkwony nominates Lily Ngok as his deputy

Lily Chepnge'tich Ngok has been appointed the new Deputy Governor for Kericho County

Ms Ngok who is currently serving as the County Executive Committee member for the Education, Sports, Culture and Social Service if approved by the county assembly will replace the late Susan Kikwai who succumbed to coronavirus complications on March 20th.


In  a letter dated March 25th addressed to Kericho County Assembly Speaker Dominic Rono, Governor Prof Paul Chepkwony stated that he had taken into account that the late Kikwai hailed from Kipkelion East and hence the nomination address the continuity in elective seats and gender balance in his government.


Governor Chepkwony further stated that he made the nomination according to article 182 (2) of the constitution as read with Section 32(C) and 32(D) of the County Government Act No 11 and Section 22,25 and 26 of the Election Act, 2011 calling on the Member of the County Assemblies the expedite the nominee's vetting and approval.
