CAS reduces Ahmad's ban to two years

The Court of Arbitration for Sports ( CAS) on Monday announced that embattled CAF President Ahmad Ahmad's five-year ban imposed by FIFA has been reduced to two years.

The ruling ends any hopes the Malagasy had for running for another term.

In its ruling, CAS found Ahmad guilty of ethical violation and misappropriation of funds.

The court further exenterated him in a separate case which is related to an alleged breach of contract with Puma in favour of France's Tactical Steel.

The latest development comes just two days before the CAF Presidential elections are held in Rabat, Morocco.
