A Nairobi MCA David Mberia has been sentenced to a 3 years in jail or pay a fine of Ksh 700,000 after he was found guilty of soliciting a Ksh 1.7 million bribe to resolve a land dispute involving a school and the Nairobi county government.
The court was told that the Karen MCA demanded the bribe from the owner of Kiragu Mwananchi School which is in Pumwani ward of Kamukunji constituency
In his ruling, Magistrate Thomas Nzioki barred the MCA from holding public office or accessing his office.
The court order is set to be communicated to Nairobi County Assembly Speaker.
