Michelle Obama set to launch children’s show on Netflix

Former US First Lady Michelle Obama announced on Tuesday that she will be launching a new children’s show  dubbed Waffles + Mochi on Netflix.

She unveiled the news through social media, saying that the show will focus on children’s healthy eating.

“I’m beyond thrilled to share that on March 16, I’ll be launching a new show on @Netflix called Waffles + Mochi! I’m excited for families and children everywhere to join us on our adventures as we discover, cook, and eat delicious food from all over the world,” the former FLOTUS shared.

She added that the Partnership for a Healthier America (PHA), where she is serving as an honorary chair, is in collaboration with the show.

Apart from starring in the show, Obama will serve as an executive producer. She will be featured as a supermarket owner along with two puppets, Waffles and Mochi.

The show aims at teaching young viewers the importance of incorporating wellness into their lifestyles.

Michelle Obama was an advocate for the prevention of childhood obesity during her time as the First Lady and the show mirrors this initiative.

Waffles + Mochi is the latest project of Higher Ground Productions, Barack and Michelle Obama’s production company.
